Q: How do I use the
Single Cavity Design Molds?
Answer:
Fill a pan or container with 2" of sand or rice.
Trim molds close to image and level in the sand, the closer the trim, the more molds you will be able to pour at once.
You can use Cold Process and Melt and Pour soaps as well as make Bath Bombs in all of our molds!
Keep an eye on the temps that you use. Do not pour higher than 140 degrees. Use a candy thermometer to be sure of your temps. For M&P fill and set up as you would normally. No greasing needed.
For cold process fill, cover and insulate as usual....allow to set. You may experience a slightly longer set up time with the individual molds, and I suggest a light coat of olive oil prior to use.
To Release:
The properties that allow for our beautiful detail require a little extra care in handling.
Press gently on the center of the mold and the four corners. Excessive force will only break your mold so take your time and work gently. All you want to happen is for air to gain entry into the mold. The air will release your soap for you, and you can watch this happening. Once the air has reached the center of the mold, you can give the soap a gentle push and it should pop out easily.
Rinse your molds in warm sudsy water after each use, and it does not hurt to give them a light coat of olive oil before storing.
As we use high grade food safe plastic, you may also use any of our molds for: Chocolate, Whipped Butters,
Jell-O Jigglers, and any frozen mousse type desserts you may want to experiment with!
